    5 star!
My son Louis absolutely loves coming to Helen O’Grady. He’s always been full of energy and full of fun so I was looking for somewhere to harness these qualities but also find focus. I didn’t want a pushy stage school environment but a place to use drama as a tool for friendship, social interaction and expression. As a professional actress myself I know that the exercises used at Helen O’Grady are what really matters in life and in drama. Activities to expand the mind, build courage, to find your comfort zone and work outside of it, to create, to improvise, to play and to find your own unique voice. This is what I have witnessed at Helen O’Grady. It’s not just about a script, a stage and an audience, it’s about the whole process and the supportive environment in which it is done.

It was wonderful to see my daughter Katie at the Parent Day last night, she has enjoyed this term immensely.

  5. Mrs S - Selsdon says:

My two eldest daughters began attending Adam’s class just over two years ago. My girls are very different, the younger sister, Willow, is loud, energetic and chatty, the older one, Nyah, is much more quiet, anxious and with a diagnosis of Autism. With Adam’s support and direction they both thrived at their classes! Willow was encouraged to use her energy in a positive way and she has found a love for performing, Nyah was able to build up her confidence. Prior to Adam’s classes, Nyah suffered badly from anxiety, would not participate in class assemblies or speak out in lessons. After just one term the change in her was amazing! She has now performed with Helen O’Grady twice on stage in front of hundreds of parents, sung at a theatre in front of thousands and joined the school band, things she would never had done before starting classes with Adam.
Attending Helen O’Grady drama classes with Adam have made such a difference to both my girls, signing them up was one of the best decisions we made! Thank you Adam for all you have done.

  6. Mr G - Selsdon says:

My son has been attending Helen O’Grady classes for two years. Saturday mornings. My son is throughly pleasant 6.5yr old young boy but he has some issues that means his balance and co-ordination are very poor.

He found these classes to be hugely enjoyable. He has noticeably developed his confidence over these two years. Parents are not permitted to stay in the class to watch their children (I believe it can inhibit their enjoyment, development and concentration). I am obsessively protective over my son and this was a concern to me, but he left every class with a smile. He also went in to every class and the first thing he did was say a confident “hello” to Adam. I have seen Adam interact with the children there. He commands their respect in a way that I could never do, even with my own son. I have no problem with that. I know my strengths and weaknesses. But he seems to do it by balancing the needs of each student just right and the respect comes with fairness and a discipline that matches.

In short. If you are thinking of it. Give it a go. It is money well spent.

  7. Mrs O - West Wickham says:

Olivia enjoyed her time with Tamsin at Pickhurst Infant School so much. In year 1 when she was having a difficult time, I knew it would be no problem to get her in on a Thursday (which we affectionately called ‘Tamsin day’!) as she always had such a great time. Tamsin has really been one of the highlights of Olivia’s infant school career.
